School Speaker Training Day

Our last School Speaker Training Day was a great success!

Thank you to all who attended our last School Speaker Training Day on Saturday,September 12 2015.

Want to grow in confidence in public and school speaking? And help the animals? Then train to be a school speaker (NB there is no obligation to become a speaker!)

School Speaker One Day Course, one of the most effective things you can do for the animals!

Calling all Viva! people! We need you – wherever you live in the UK – to give talks in secondary schools and promote the veggie message! Speaking to teenagers in schools about vegetarian issues is a truly uplifting experience. You have an attentive audience that is genuinely sympathetic and open-minded. It changes attitudes, changes lives and lays the vital foundations for a cruelty-free tomorrow. It is also one of the most rewarding things you can do. And, of course, you will have the fantastic Food for Life DVD to help you.

Training days are informal and fun and there’s no obligation to become a speaker.

You will:

  • meet like-minded people
  • increase your knowledge of vegetarian and vegan issues such as factory farming, health and nutrition, the environment and developing world
  • learn how to tailor talks to different classes and age groups
  • get top tips on successful speaking
  • learn how to give cookery demos (if you want to – not all our speakers give demos)

The day costs only £10 waged/£5 unwaged, which includes a copy of The Viva! Guide to Speaking in Schools, our teen film Food for Life, leaflets, a full set of guides, vegan refreshments and a vegan lunch.

We usually hold a School Speaker Training Day once a year. The details of the next event will be posted here shortly.
